The elusive side-hustle.

We’ve been discussing this a lot in our Live Talks. Some of you have come up with some amazing ideas on how you can incorporate your love of music and live events with a lucrative up-skill or by re-skilling. Our hope is that those of you who are still feeling stuck can gain some inspiration with our topic this week.

Kim Dylla graduated from the University of Virginia with degrees in Art and Computer Science, and was awarded a graduate fellowship for Digital Art. Since 2013 she has been a full time traveling artist and designer, for her company Kylla Custom Rock Wear.  Kylla Custom Rock Wear creates custom stage wardrobes for  major performing artists in the heavy metal and rock world such as Machine Head, King Diamond, Kreator, Journey, Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom, Asking Alexandria, Satyricon, Slipknot, Cradle of Filth, and WWE wrestlers Bray Wyatt and Chris Jericho, and has clients in 37 countries worldwide.

Extending her artistic endeavors into the musical realm, Kim Dylla is also a heavy metal vocalist, having toured and performed with the legendary band GWAR as her futuristic character Vulvatron.  She has also performed and toured as the lead singer of  the bands Kung Fu Dykes, A Winter Lost, and Thismeansyou since 2002.  Many of her recordings and musical collaborations have reached international radio acclaim and distribution

She is a prime example of turning her hobby into a full-time career, while also continuing to perform live with her various music projects as a singer. She’ll tell it like it is and let us in on her journey to finding a way to keep her love of music and performing relevant in her business.

We’re hoping that some others will join tonight to explain how they were able to discover hidden talents during this unprecedented downtime and turn them into side-hustles. We’ll also continue to discuss how important up-skilling in your current area of expertise is. No one asked for this time off, but let’s find ways to make the best of it. The more feedback we get from you, our loyal C.R.E.W Coalition members, the better we can serve you when we release our first wave of courses that will be made available to you.

If you have already begun your side-hustle / up-skilling / re-skilling journey, we’d love to hear your story! Please join us tonight at 20:00 CEST / 19:00 BST / 2PM EST / 11 AM PST.

As usual…. a few reminders.

This is an open forum and we want to hear from everyone who wants to speak. We LOVE the enthusiasm these bring out in everyone, but let’s be respectful to our fellow C.R.E.W members. Please be sure to mute your mic upon entering the Zoom. Once we’re all in, we’ll go through a very brief introduction of ourselves so we know who is in the room. One minute or less. We’ll kick off the conversation with a current topic and let the conversation flow from there. PLEASE use the little “raise your hand” emoji in the reactions bar located at the bottom of the Zoom screen if you’d like to say something and one of our moderators will call on you. Be sure to utilize the chat as well if you’d like to add something or share information with the rest of the participants.

The Zoom will be filmed and by attending, you agree to appearing in any future C.R.E.W Coalition free promotional based videos / photos shared on our platforms. We encourage participants to keep their camera on so we can see your beautiful faces, however you can always choose to keep your camera off if you prefer. We will always inform you ahead of time if and when we choose to post audio or video.

Finally, we encourage you to subscribe to our blog so you’re always the first person “in the know”.

AND DON’T FORGET TO JOIN THE CREW COALITION COMMUNITY as well as follow us on all other socials.
